What Are You Waiting For?

I learned from one of the best speakers of all time, Jim Rohn that “You don’t have to be great to start, but you have to start to be great.”

Over a year ago I posted this video on YouTube to say I was going to be the next World Champion of Public Speaking… notice how I can’t even say the word vocabulary! Good chances ha?

With the help of Randy Harvey, my wife, family, co-wrokers and the endless Toastmasters who helped me on my journey I was able to make that goal happen.

Posting that video made me nervous. My first thoughts were “What if I fail?” of “What will people think?” I was quickly reminded that to be successful you will fail and people will give your opinion no matter what! So if this is the case, you might as well do what you love and go for the things that will make you happy.

What I found out after I posted that video was that people were willing to help. They wanted me to succeed. I learned that many of us are scared of putting things like this out there, me included, but once you do it is a sign for help and people like to help!

Think of it as a map. If you have a map out in front of you and you are standing on a busy street corner looking confused, within a few seconds people are willing to help you get to where you want to go. They will go out of their way to help you! Too many people don’t have their maps out in front of them.

It is not about knowing how to get there, it is about committing to getting there!

People along the way will help you reach your final destination. What is your map for 2014? What do you want to accomplish? What are you waiting for?

Put your goals together and show as many people as you can. Go out there and #MakeThingsHappen in 2014! It is your year! As always…

Dream BIG,
Ryan
