Some R&R&R in Hawaii

From the sunsets that look like a postcard to scuba diving with seat turtles, Hawaii has been one of those trips that make you think, dream and feel inspired.

After teaching a workshop in Honolulu I unplugged for two days and made sure to do three things:

Ryan and Chelsea Avery in HawaiiRest: We have been going non-stop and I don’t want to be burned out. We still have three months of the tour and if I am going to give the next 30 cities all of my energy I need to rejuvenate and rest when I can. Make sure you are not going to long without some needed rest. Turn off your phone, disconnect from your emails and enjoy some time with the people you love.

Ryan Avery - Stop Talking, Start CommunicatingRead: This book is a must read for those who want to improve their communication skills. I believe reading is one of the best things you can do to improve yourself. But we can’t fool ourselves if we think reading is the only thing that will make us stronger. We need to put what we have learned into action. Read a good book this week, give it to someone else to read and talk about the lessons learned when you can. When you can teach it, you have actually learned it!

Ryan Avery in HawaiiRewind: I am doing a lot of reflecting on this trip. Thinking about where I was last year and where I want to be next. But right now I need to be in the right now. Often times I can be to far behind or to far ahead and I miss what is right in front of me. Take some time to be in the present moment. Go through all of your five senses. What to do smell, taste, feel, hear and see right now? Let right now soak in.

Take some time this week to rest, read a book that advances your career and rewind enough to reflect on your life. Be in the moment when you can and always remember to….

Dream BIG,
Ryan
